You Have Something to SAY!
I just want to take a second and say how much I LOVE this picture. It's such a reflection of where I find myself. This young kid hooked up with a REALLY expensive set up to record this shout that he has ready to release.
The word SHABACH means to praise God in a loud tone, to pacify (as if by words); to commend, glory, keep in, praise, still, and to triumph.
I have felt an extremely strong sense that there is a out-loud response within every one of us that we have reasoned away why we don't let it out. Some of the reasons we hear in our heads could be one of these:
"No one will listen to ME."
"I don't speak as well as (so-and-so)."
"It's not really my personality."
"I'm (this age)."
"I'm (this gender)."
"I'm still dealing with stuff."
Take your pick, if it's not listed above, I'm sure we have something going on that sounds like a discredit to you or your story. But let me tell you something... YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY...AND...SOMEONE NEEDS TO HEAR IT. I can't tell you how many times I've been ministered to by, get this, a non-believer when all they had to do was ask me how my day was going, or even just smile at me.
So, here's a little bit of a challenge, when you find yourself hesitating to open your mouth to praise God, or just encourage someone that Jesus loves them... DO IT!
Feel free to leave a comment and let me know how things go. I'll tell you this, its hard at first, practice and remember that in whatever you say, say it in love. Remember, James 2:13 MSG "Kind mercy wins over harsh judgment every time."
